Investigation object - strong-willed preparation of the future frontier guards officers. Investigation aim - to substantiate theoretically and check experimentally the pedagogical conditions which provide formation of strong-willed qualities of the future frontier guards officers during employment by east combats. Investigation methods - theoretical analysis of scientific sources; empiric methods of investigation - testing, conversation, questionnaring, methods of expert testing, statistic methods of the gained results estimation and qualitative dependence between investigated phenomenon definition. Theoretical and practical results - the main list of strong-willed qualities formation of the future frontier guards officers has been defined: purposefulness, persistence, keenness, decisiveness, courage, initiative, self-dependence, self-control, self-possession. Psychological structure of strong-willed qualities consists of three components - intellectual, motivative and executive. The main indices of formation of strong-willed qualities of the cadets are strength (evidence, activeness) and breadth (generalization). Four types of strong-willed activeness can be emphasized: generalized and active, situative and active, generalized and passive, situative and passive. Pedagogical conditions of effective formation of strong-willed qualities of the future frontier guards officers have been defined. Purposeful formation of strong-willed qualities should be executed in such series: preparatory stage, self-appraisal stage, purposeful stage, training stage, final stage. Introduction novelty - methodic of in series development of strong-willed qualities formation of the future frontier guards officers has been worked out for the first time; conditions of effective influence of east combats on the development of strong-willed qualities have been substantiated theoretically and checked experimentally for the first time; further development of list of professionally needed strong-willed qualities definition and their structural components has been done. Introduction degree - the research results have been utilized in teaching process of the National Border Guard Academy of Ukraine, Military engineer institute of Podillya state agrarian technical Academy and The Military institute of state university 'Lviv Politechnic'. Utilization sphere (branch) - professional and combat preparation personnel process of military units, the military educational establishments, officers' training courses.
