Objekt - educational process in Zakarpattya's public schools during the second half of the XIX century - the end of the XX century. Aim - to analyze the functions of school primers contents for public schools at different stages of Ukrainian ABC-books creation process during given period in Zakarpatska region with the purpose of using their educational power in modern school practise of the I-III level. Methods: theoretical, that is historically logical analysis of methodological and psychologically pedagogical literature, analysis of papers of education board, school curricula and syllabi; chronological, retrospective, systematically, structural and comparative analyses of ABC textbooks contents; generalizing of traditional and innovatory experience while writing school primers; empiric - e pedagogical observation and diagnosis, talks, questionnaires, test and methods of mathematic processing of statistic processing of statistic data. Scientific novelty and theoretical importance of research: · then were discovered some peculiarities of the process of Ukrainian national ABC books development at different historical stages (that is to say creating school primers condifions of Zakarpattya's cultural life deep decay, when the policy of shovinism dominated in attitude towards representatives of non-Hungarican nationalities; establishment of human and social ideals i.e. all-people solidarity, equality, kindness, benevolent, hard-working; keeping family traditions and religions spirit in children's education; different genres popularization of Ukrainian children's folk-lore, etc. · here were analyzed educational priorities of Ukrainian ABC books contents of the second half of the second half of the XIX century - the end of the XX century, as well as ones published during the first decade of independent Ukraine, i.e. bringing up junior schoolchildren's individual traits of character, christian morality and so on; radical renewal of methodological directions, didactic, and methodical principles; realization of prior conceptions of national and public education in the context of the program "Education. Ukraine of the XXI century". · et was well-founded and supplemented the system of didactic principles in structuring ABC books content (in accordance with nature, national character, regional ethnography, etc.); their contents selection, taking into consideration works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists in the sphere of primary school didactics (encyclopeadical, seasonal, close relation of theoretical material with real people's life, the close unity of human, national and ethnic principles in the work with each pupil). Practical significance of obtained results is in the fact, that discovered peculiarities of ABC books coutents use, applied in Zakarpattia public schools during researched period can beput intopractice by modern junior schools teachers and used ui their after-classes work with the goal of formation human values among junior pupils and iu educative work with parents. Materials of retrospective analysis of educative priorities in Ukrainian ABC books are used by high school lecturers and pedagogical college teachers of different levels of accrediffaion rohile delivering lectures on "Pedagogics", "History of Pedagogics", "Methods of Teaching Mother Tongue in Primary School", "Children's Literature" and others. Conclusions of the given research work were used in the elaboration of methodikal recommendations for teachers concerning their after-classes work with six-year old first formers utilizing Ukrainian school primers of researched period.
