Essay

Object of the research – professional preparation of teachers in the system of higher teacher training education in Canada. Aim of the research – to analyze the state and reveal the basic tendencies of the development and formation of teacher effectiveness in the system of higher teacher training education in Canada; to clear up the possibilities of introduction of the positive Canadian ideas into the Ukrainian educational establishments. Methods of the research – theoretical, empirical. Theoretical results and novelty – for the first time in Ukrainian pedagogical science the development of theory and practice of professional pedagogical education in Canadian institutions of higher education has been analyzed; the stages of development of Canadian universities and of Canadian teacher training system of education have been defined; the ways of formation of future teachers’ effectiveness in the system of higher teacher training education in Canada have been revealed; the notion of teacher effectivenessof Canadian future teachers and Ukrainian future teachers has been defined more precisely; the comparative analysis of the tendencies of formation of teacher effectiveness of future Canadian and Ukrainian teachers has been given; the ways of implementing of positive Canadian ideas into the system of higher teacher training in Ukraine have been defined. Practical significance – the major results can be used in the process of working out lectures and practical classes in Comparative Education for post-graduate students of faculties of education; for updating of curricula, plans, courses and reference data base for preparing future teachers. Subject and degree of the introduction: the major results of the research have been used in a training manual “The Organization of Training at Ukrainian Higher Teacher Training Institutions Using the Productive Ideas of Canadian Pedagogical Thought”. Effectiveness of the introduction is high. Field of the use – higher pedagogical educational establishments.
