Essay

Analysis of stage history staging of Shakespeare's tragedy "Hamlet" was firstly shown in thesis, in Ukrainian study of theatre in professional theatres of the city of Lviv: Austrian, Polish, Ukrainian. Making a review of performances in a chronological consistency of their appearances, the author watches development of stage Hamletiana in a context of formation and strengthening separate national scenes and taking into consideration the processes of their interplays. The special mission of Lviv as a city, because of its theatrical practice, dramaturgy was spreading from Europe on the ground of Ukraine and the first audience acquaintance with the works of famous dramatist was taken place at the turn of XVIII-XIX centuries is emphasized. Special attention is paid to the meaning of staging "Hamlet" in formation of European-oriented artists' and audience' consciousness of the city in XIX-XX centuries.
