Object - the educational process in elementary schools of Ukraine in the second half of the XX-th century; goal - to generalise the theory and to systematise the experience of the realisation of the idea of problem-solving teaching of primary school learners in the second half of the XX-th century; methods - historian-pedagogical, system-structural, comparative, historian-retrospective; novelty - in historian-pedagogical aspect the complete analysis of the development of the theory and practice of problem-solving teaching of primary school learners in the designated chronological borders for the first time is made; the stages of the development of the idea of problem-solving teaching of primary school learners in the second half of the XX-th century are proved; the scientific and pedagogical sights are generalised and the contribution of the leading scientists of the XX-th century to the development of idea of problem-solving teaching of primary school learners is defined; the tendencies of the development of problem-solving teaching in the history of a pedagogical science of Ukraine in the second half of the XX-th century are defined; the prospects are outlined, the tendencies of the creative use of the pedagogical ideas, of the concepts of the leading scientists and teachers of the second half of the XX-th century in a modern elementary school are formulated; results - introduction of conclusions and recommendations into the teaching process; the working out of the special course "Problem training in an elementary school"; usage of materials of dissertation at a writing of the textbooks, manuals, other methodical literature and also during the organization of the future teachers' practice and in the process of the post-graduated education; speciality - General Pedagogic and History of Pedagogic.
