The dissertation is devoted to the problem of senior pupils national self-consciousness in the process of regional studies work in comprehensive educational institutions. The analysis of pedagogical and methodological sources revealed the lack of special investigations of the problem. The dissertation identifies the structure of the personality national self-consciousness. The criteria described in the dissertation and indices identifying the level of development of this integrated quality were applied in the process of the experimental investigation. The technology of forming the senior students’ national self-consciousness was worked out and approbated. This effectiveness was confirmed. They can be applied in the conditions of comprehensive educational institutions. Although, the important aspects of the problem are considered, they need to be investigated henceforth.
