The dissertation focuses on the complex analysis of the native and foreign scientific works which deal with the problem of pupils' multicultural scientific works which deal with the problem of pupils' multicultural education and multicultural education in the second half of the XIX-th -beginning of the XX-th c. are highlighted and substantiated. Fundamental theoretical ideas, principles, tasks of pupils' multicultural education in the native pedagogical theory of that historical period are defined. The principles of pupils' multicultural education are: the principle of national character, the principle of cultural conformity, the principle of democratization. Methods and forms of the organization of pupils' multicultural education (we mean lessons as well as educational activities in out-of-school hours) in the. native gymnasia of the historical period which has been mentioned above are substantiated.
