Object of research: processes of formation and use age of labour potential in highr education institutions of Ukraine. The purpose of dissertational work is improvement of theoretical bases, development of scientific - methodical and scientific - practical recommendations on formation and use ageof labour potential in higher educational institutions of Ukraine. Methods of research: dialectic method of scientific knowledge, method of generalization, method of the comparative analysis, methods of the statistical analysis, ordering, a method of the system analysis and economic-mathematical modelling. Theoretical results: will consist in a deepening of theoretical bases of development of labour potential of nigh education institutions and development of scientifically proved organizational - economic mechanisms of formation and use of labour potential in higher educational institutions. Practical results: theoretical and scientific - methodical positions, practical recommendations will be, that, are a basis of maintenance of realization of the offered measures for the decision of problems of efficiency of formation and use of labour potential of higher educational institutions of all patterns of ownership. Scientific novelty: for the first time: the mechanism of consecutive formation of structure of professor teaching structure of a higher educational institution is developed; the mechanism of a quantitative substantiation of decision-making on distribution of means between educational subitems of higher educational institutions is developed; it is advanced: kathegorial device of research, namely the maintenance of concept " labour potential of higher educational institutions " is proved; have received the further development: directions of formation and use of labour potential of higher educational institutions.
