Essay

The research deals with the role of students' self-governing at higher education establishments of Canada. The analysis of genesis of concepts "citizenship" is carried out. In this research is undertaken the attempt to examinate the state of the problem in psychological-pedagogical and scientific-methodical literature. It was theoretically proved and substantiated the content, principles, forms and methods of fostering civil values in students at higher education establishments of Canada by means of self-governing; was developed methodical recommendations on the use of Canadian experience in education of civil values at higher education establishments of Ukraine. There are given more proofs to the importance of students' self-governing in training of political leaders and civil servants. It is emphasized on necessity to use the experience of students' self-governing of higher education establishments of Canada in civil education.
