Essay

The dissertation presents the results of the investigations concerning biochemical and ultrastructural changes in the parodontium of white rats under conditions of experimental periodontitis and in oral liquid of the young patients (18-29 years old) with periodontitis. It was established that in the rats parodontium under experimental periodontitis there were ultrastructural changes mitochondrions of connective tissue. It was noticed the connective tissue hypoxia that confirmed the presence of inflammatory-dystrophic process in parodontium tissue of rats. It was shown that experimental periodontitis in rats was accompanied with the development of biochemical syndrome of lipid peroxidation: the accumulation of cytotoxic products of lipid peroxidation (LP), the decrease of antioxidant system activity, the changes in the ratio of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids among parodontium lipids. It was shown that application of flamikar and corargine, which were immobilized on the silics, led to attenuation of lipid peroxidation process in parodontium tissue of rats during experimental periodontitis and increased the capacity of the system of antioxidant defence. The results of investigation of biochemical changes in oral liquid of the patients with periodontitis at the initial, first and second stages of the disease were presented in the dissertation. As it was shown in the oral liquid the development of oxidative stress took place: the increase of accumulation of diene conjugates, malonic dialdehyde and pool of stable metabolites of nitrogen oxide against the background of the decrease of the defense function of antioxidant system. Meanwhile, as a result of peroxide modification of parodontium biomembranes, the change of spectrum of fatty acids in the oral liquid took place. That led to the increase of unsaturation of the lipid complex with the increase of the level of arachidonic and eicosapentaenoic acids at the patients with the initial stage of periodontitis, and to the increase of saturation of lipids of oral liquid and the decrease of the polynonsaturated fatty acids at the patients with the first and second stage of periodontitis. It was established that biochemical indicators of oxidative stress became more expressed at the disease aggravation, during the enhancing of inflammation dystrophic process in parodontium.
