Essay

The dissertation deals with the theoretical generalization and sorting out the problems concerning the formation of national values of pupils 8-9 formers of the secondary school in the course of History studies which is represented by providing the essence and specification of this process, the content and structure of national values. The levels of the development of the quality under investigation in addescents are distinguished on the basis of the theoretical analysis of personal characteristics, components and criteria of the formation of national values. The structural and functional model of the formation of national values through History studies in the secondary school is substantiated, worked out and probated. As a result of the experiment the following pedagogical conditions of the formation of national values has been identified: the external condition which is represented by the value-shaping activity of the teacher and the internal condition which is represented by the value-developing activity of the pupil. It has been proved that the process of the formation of national values whose basis is the value-shaping activity of the teacher and the value-developing activity of the pupil facilitates realizing emotional values attitude to the world and enlarging the creative experience which enhances possibilities of qualitative study of all the components of History subjects at school and optimizes national education.
