Essay

The object of research - the process of multicultural education of junior schoolchildren. The aim of research - to theoretically ground the technology of multicultural education of junior schoolchildren in out-of-class activities, experimentally verify its effectiveness. The complex of methods was used: theoretical: an analysis of philosophical, cultural, psychological and educational literature, the synthesis and interpretation of scientific data; empirical: the analysis of programs, educational plans of primary school teachers, the observation of activities of teachers and junior schoolchildren, pedagogical experiment; statistical: quantitative and qualitative comparative analysis of experimental data. Scientific novelty: the technology of multicultural education of junior schoolchildren in out-of-class activities is developed, grounded and realized; pedagogical conditions of multicultural education of junior schoolchildren in out-of-class activities are revealed; the concept "multicultural education of junior schoolchildren" and criteria and indicators of multicultural upbringing of junior schoolchildren are specified; the levels of multicultural upbringing of junior schoolchildren are characterized; educational potential of out-of-class activities in multicultural education of junior schoolchildren is defined. Results: the concept "multicultural education of junior schoolchildren" is specified. It is regarded as a process of cultural and social identification of junior schoolchildren's personality. It aims at development of junior schoolchildren's understanding of uniqueness of their culture, at learning about the cultures and values of other people. The educational potential of out-of-class activities in multicultural education of junior schoolchildren is defined. It involves voluntary participation, diversity and choice of forms of communication of junior schoolchildren. The technology of multicultural education of junior schoolchildren in out-of-class activities is theoretically grounded, its effectiveness experimentally verified.
