Object - educating about environmental protection in general secondary schools; aim - to find out the influence of theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested pedagogical conditions promoting efficiency of high school pupils' training for environmental protection in general secondary schools on the level of their environmental protection culture ; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - the research has been the first one to define the structure of high school pupils' environmental protection culture as a result of training for environmental protection, the content of the components is characterized, the pedagogical conditions promoting efficiency of high school pupils' training for environmental protection have been theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested, the criteria and indices of the environmental protection culture of high school pupils in general secondary schools have been specified, the notion "educating high school pupils in environmental protection" has been further analysed; results - the pedagogical conditions promoting efficiency of high school pupils' training for environmental protection have been experimentally tested and are recommended for the implementation in modern day school practice; methodological materials are used in the course which provides professional development of general secondary school teachers at Poltava M.V.Ostrogradsky regional institute for professional development of teachers, the materials of the research can be used in the process of teaching "Pedagogy" and can be used for writing textbooks and teaching manuals; field - pedagogy
