In the dissertation on the basis of analysis of philosophical, psychological, pedagogical, social researches there are viewed upon the theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of the positive attitude to the service in the armed forces of Ukraine with senior school pupils in the process of extracurricular activity in Physical Culture. The extracurricular activity in Physical Culture is investigated as a system. One of the elements of this system is extracurricular sport work. There are defined the outer and inner patterns of extracurricular work in Physical Culture. The former ones characterize the dependence of extracurricular work on the social processes and conditions: social, economic, political, the level of culture, the needs of the society in the definite type of a personality. The latter ones describe the connections between the components of extracurricular work in Physical Culture. The patterns of dynamics of extracurricular work in Physical Culture which presuppose that the quantity of all the subsequent changes in extracurricular work in Physical Culture, directed to the formation of the positive attitude to the service in the armed forces depend on the quantity of the changes at the previous level. This means that extracurricular work in Physical Culture is the interaction between teachers and pupils which is of the progressive character. The pattern of the development of a personality in extracurricular work in Physical Culture which includes rates and the achieved level of education, upbringing, development and socialization. There is theoretically grounded and experimentally proved the system character of influence of the means and methods of physical upbringing on the formation of the positive attitude with the youth to the service in the armed forces. The rise of physical training and the change of the images about the armed forces promote the strengthening of confidence of a personality in its own forces. The effective pedagogical conditions of the formation of the positive attitude to the armed service and readiness of senior school pupils to the defense of the Motherland there are the leveled defining of the military and patriotic readiness of senior school pupils to the defense of the Motherland, the educational work among teachers and pupils, the including of the pupils into the pedagogically meaningful types of the military and patriotic relations, the enrichment of the military and patriotic traits in the process of the interaction of educational institutions and social organizations.
