Essay

The object is the teaching and educational process in higher pedagogical educational institutions; the goa;l is to reveal how the scientifically grounded technology of cultivating pedagogical tolerance in teachers-to-be on the basis of the axiological approach affects the changes in the level of development thereof; the methods used are theoretical, empirical and statistical; the novelty consists in theoretically grounding for the first time the structural components of the pedagogical tolerance (goals-values, knowledge-values, skills-values, relations-values, qualities-values) and the means of ensuring humanistic notion and value orientation of the pedagogical process (the dialogical character of the interaction, the teacher's refusal from categorical appraisal of people and their characteristics, etc.) as well as grounding and experimentally testing the technology of cultivating pedagogical tolerance in teachers-to-be on the basis of the axiological approach which comprises the "motivation-value", "content-procedural" and "personality-behavioral" components; specifying and elaborating on the essence of the pedagogical tolerance as a professionally significant integrative teacher's quality enabling him to establish dialogical relationships with all the participants of the pedagogical interaction (students, their parents, teachers, school administration) on the basis of respect of their opinions, values and other personal traits; the criteria (the character of the manifestation of the student's ability to define goals-values on the basis of the humanistic axiological provisions; the character of knowledge-values manifestation as a tolerant behavior foundation, the level of skills-values development ensuring pedagogical tolerance manifestation; the character of manifestation by the teachers-to-be of personal qualities-values required for tolerant behavior) and the relevant indicators of the level of the pedagogical tolerance acquired by the students of higher pedagogical educational institutions; the idea of the axiological approach as a theoretical foundation for cultivating pedagogical tolerance in teachers-to-be as well as forms and methods of its cultivation in students have received further development; the results consist in the development of the methodological materials for teachers of higher pedagogical educational institutions of II-IV accreditation level in cultivating pedagogical tolerance in teachers-to-be on the basis of the axiological approach; the field is pedagogics
