Essay

The thesis presents a comprehensive analysis of problems of bringing up the interest in teaching and learning of literature in extracurricular activities in primary school. The notions "Interest younger students in learning and cognitive literature" are identified; criteria (cognitive-intellectual, emotional and valuable, artistic and verbal), indeces and levels of interest formation are characterized, pedagogical conditions of this interest formation are defined, which include: emotional saturation of classes, use of play-based forms of bringing up the interest in reading, activation of cognitive activity, the creation of problem situations, creating the readingspace in interrelation of schools, libraries and family; formation of the reflexive position of pupils on the basis of psychological characteristics of their readers' perception, their reader interest. The model of bringing up the interest in teaching and learning of literature in extracurricular activities in primary school is theoretically grounded and practically tested.
