Essay

This thesis is devoted to the aesthetical analysis of formation and development of Indian temple dance as "hieropraksis" or sacred syncretic complex, emerged on the basis of religious and cultural complex of Hinduism. In this context, it examines the transformation of the understanding of God or the Absolute Brahman which were the ideas of the Upanishad gradually evolved as the concept of a personal deity, which led to the concept of the Cosmic Dancer - Nataraja and his iconographic image. Temple dance has emerged as the main inheritance of the deity of the cosmic dance of creation and destruction, and formed the basis of the temple rituals, the texts attributed by agamas. We investigate the uniqueness of the aesthetic canon of Indian temple dance, as a system of rules and regulations that have ritual significance and are displayed in the form of certain plastic codes cosmological symbolism of iconographic image of Nataraja. Aesthetical canon includes such special features as a sculptural, iconographical, symbolic, imagery, specific visual design, geometrical spatial movement.
