The object of research is the process of using an employment potential of an industrial region in the strategic dimension. The aim is to develop the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of the labor potential, scientific and methodological basis and the development of scientific and practical recommendations for the use of the labor potential in the strategic dimension-specific industrial areas. Methods: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction method unity of the historical and logical, comparative approach, positive and normative approaches, statistical, economic and mathematical method of comparative analysis, graphing. Theoretical results: consist of theoretical and methodological bases for the use of labor potential and the development of scientific and practical recommendations on the strategic orientation of use of labor potential of an industrial region. The Bottom Line: consist in the fact that developed proposals for improving the effectiveness of the use of the labor potential of Donetsk region form the basis for improving the content of the strategic programs and the current socio-economic development of the region. Scientific novelty: for the first time: a concept proposed mechanism for the use of the labor potential of the region; improved: the scientific and methodological basis for determining the orientation of socio-economic development of the industrial region through the development of scientific and methodological approaches to the definition of a strategic framework improve the effectiveness of use of labor potential, organizational and economic basis for the formation of labor building; further developed: the conceptual and categorical apparatus study of the use of the labor potential by providing the author's definition of the employment potential of the region, the theoretical foundations of the study of the labor potential. The degree of implementation: the results of the study introduced into practice the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the Donetsk Regional Employment Center, Donetsk City Council, the Kirov and the Proletarian District Council in the city of Donetsk, the Regional Fund for Entrepreneurship, as well as used in the learning process of Donetsk Institute of Market and Social Policy.
