Stepchuk V. Environmental Education of Secondary Schools Pupils in Scandinavian Countries in the Second Part of the XXth - the Beginging of the ХХІst Century

The dissertation is devoted to studying and generalization of the experience of environmental education and upbringing of secondary schools pupils in countries that are situated on the territory of the Scandinavian Peninsula. On the basis of the scrupulously done analysis of the obtained facts from the worked up literary sources, devoted to questions of the theory and practice of pedagogical ecology, its methodological, philosophic and pedagogical principles are disclosed; the main stages of its development, proceeding from historic and cultural traditions of interaction of man with nature in this part of Northern Europe and urgent tasks of nature protection movement, which arises at certain stages of history of Scandinavian countries, are considered and characterized; the goal, tasks, principles, the content of environmental education of pupils of secondary schools are investigated; it is determined that Scandinavian educationalists take into consideration conclusions and recommendations of international conferences, held on the initiative of UNO and its specialized structures, first of all UNESCO-UNEP concerning its sense of filling, having agreed them with national researches in this field of pedagogical science and practice, a positive experience of schools of their own countries in training the growing generation for solving environmental problems is generalized; ways and methods of realization of environmental education in teaching and upbringing process of secondary schools, outdoor education and extra-curricula activity of pupils in learning and protecting of natural environment in Scandinavian countries is enlightened.
