Essay

The dissertation investigates the issue of development and implementation of methods of aesthetic education of university humanities students through dialogue of cultures. A theoretical analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature has enabled us to generalize modern approaches to understanding of such basic terms as aesthetic education, methods of education, dialogue of cultures; highlight the importance of dialogue in education and specify the structure and principles of aesthetic education. The key ideas of the research lie in the influence of cultural university environment, dialogic interaction, culture, arts, language, information technologies on students' aesthetic development. Dialogue is viewed as a two dominant interaction aimed at encouraging person's greater self-understanding and further mutual understanding between different people and nations. The investigation has revealed the role of languages in carrying out an adequate intercultural interaction. In order to estimate the students' aesthetic maturity we have determined and justified the criteria, indicators and levels of aesthetic development in the context of dialogue of cultures. As a result of the research experimental methods of aesthetic education for humanities students have been developed. Being based on the educational computer program the developed methods have been successfully implemented and examined in the university educational process.
