Essay

The thesis deals with the issues of developing vocational self-determination of the high school students in Germany. Based on the theoretical and practical analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature, as well as secondary school curricula and legislative documents on vocational education and career guidance in Germany, the peculiarities of supporting the process of vocational and career counselling of the high school students in Germany are outlined; the essences of the notions "vocational self-determination" and "competence in choosing a career" are specified. Stages and levels of developing the above mentioned are noted. The experience of forming competence in choosing a career and its realization in modern German schools is generalized. Special recommendations on improving the process of vocational self-determination of the high school students in Ukraine are designed on the Basis of the German practice
