Object - secondary school educational and teaching process; the aim - to find out the influence of theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested pedagogical conditions directed at the development of academic diligence in junior adolescents in secondary school educational and teaching process on the level of its development; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - the research is the first to specify the content of the structural components of junior adolescents' academic diligence; the pedagogical conditions of the efficient development of academic diligence in junior adolescents are determined; the essence of academic diligence as an integral personality quality revealed in an expressed positive and active personality's attitude to academic activity and readiness to learning activity with pleasure and without compulsion aimed at accomplishing the given task is specified; the criteria and indices of the levels of academic diligence formation in junior adolescents are analysed; the forms and methods of academic diligence development in junior adolescents have undergone further examination; results - the researched pedagogical conditions of academic diligence development in junior adolescents have been experimentally tested and are recommended for the implementation in the present day school practice. Theoretical ideas and practical data of the research, the methodological recommendations based on the materials of the research will be helpful to school teachers, those working in the system of teachers' professional development, to students of higher education institutions studying "Pedagogy" and working at course, diploma and Master degree papers and for writing textbooks and teaching manuals ; field - pedagogy.
