Object - the process of student self-government organization at higher teacher training institutions; the aim - to find out the influence of theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested pedagogical conditions of training future teachers for educational work in the process of student self-government organization on the level of their professional readiness to this work; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - the research is the first to provide a theoretical substantiation and experimental testing of the didactic conditions of training future teachers for educational work in the process of student self-government organization; the essence of future teacher's readiness to professional educational activity has been specified as a personality's psychological and pedagogical forming covering motives, knowledge, skills and habits and professionally important personal qualities that are valuable for future teacher's efficient professional educational activity; the content of structural components of future teacher's readiness to professional educational activity and criteria and indices of the levels of future teacher's readiness to professional educational activity have been determined; forms, methods and ways of training future teachers for educational work in the process of student self-government have been analysed; results - the pedagogical conditions of training future teachers for educational work in the process of student self-government organization have been experimentally tested and are recommended for implementation in the process of professional training of students at higher teacher training institutions.
