The thesis is devoted to the analysis of the linguopoetic features of the French author's tale and focuses on the study of their changes in the evolution of the genre. The research work defines the notion of "French author's tale", determines key evolution stages from the origin of the genre (the XIIth c.) till the early ХХІth c. The analysis of linguopoetics, composition, architectonics, features of the French author's tale in the late XVIIth c. is carried out. Charles Perrault's contribution to further development of the genre is described. The study suggests the philosophic tale as the key stage of the genre evolution. The characteristics of the paratextual elements as an important architectonic peculiarity of these oeuvres are distinguished. The subgenre of the moralistic tale is studied. The linguopoetic description of the subgenres of "referential", fantastic tales of the ХІХ-ХХth c., as well as the peculiarities of the lexical and stylistic means use in the analyzed texts are considered. The thesis suggests that the French author's tale of the late ХХ - early ХХІth c. develop in four main directions: famous classical tales modifications, fairy tales for children, erotical tales for adults and free translations.
