Essay

The thesis focuses on axiological principles of the process of formation of intercultural competence of foreign university students, explanation and experimental verification of psycho-pedagogical conditions on this basis: 1) axiologization of educational process; 2) consideration of secondary language personality of a foreign student; 3) the development of positive motivation of foreign students to intercultural cooperation; 4) reflection of attitude to representatives of other cultures; 5) favorable psychological climate in groups with mixed ethnic composition. The following components in the structure of intercultural competence are defined: valuable-cognitive, valuable-motivational-affective and valuable-active, analysis of formation of which involved the rise of a system of criteria and levels: high (creative), average (productive) and low (reproductive). The "Studying of culture of foreign university students" course program oriented on realization of psycho-pedagogical conditions lies in the basis of the formation methodology. Thanks to innovative methodological-didactic and organizational techniques implementation, positive dynamics in levels of intercultural communication formation of foreign students according to all defined components was presented.
