The research of theoretical foundations and the analysis of modern approaches to the formation of social and communicative culture of students of medical educational institutions during non-school hours is presented in the dissertation. The essence of the concept of «social and communicative culture of students of medical educational institutions» is defined as an integral concept characterized by the ability of students of medical educational institutions to perceive the values of communicative skills and abilities, as well as to understand norms and methods of assertive behavior that ensures implementing of subject-subject interaction, adaptation and self-realization of personality in the society. The analysis of the formation and development of domestic and foreign philosophical, culturological and pedagogical theories concerning the essence of categories «culture», «social culture», «social and communicative culture» is carried out. It is determined that culture is defined as education, formation, development, worship, a specific way of organizing and developing of human activity, represented in the products of material and spiritual labor, the system of social norms and attitudes, spiritual values, the totality of attitudes of people to the nature, between people and to the person. The social and communicative development of an individual is organically interconnected, mutually influential and mutually interconnected. The methodological basis for the formation of the social and communicative culture of the individual is the communicative theory of communication as a mean of transferring the forms of culture and social experience of human beings through a dialogic contact. It is noted that communicative culture is an integral characteristic of the personality, through which the interrelation of the individual with the society is carried out, the perception and reflection of their social relations, and the contacts between people are provided. The social and communicative culture of students of medical educational institutions is considered as a personal feature characterized by his or her ability to perceive the values of communicative skills and skills, to understand the norms and methods of assertive behavior that ensure the possibility of subject-subject interaction, adaptation and self-realization of the individual in the society. The content structure is represented by cognitive, emotional-value, activity-behavioral criteria. The criteria, indicators and determined levels of socio-communicative formation are substantiated. The criteria (cognitive, emotional, value-oriented, activity-behavioral), indicators and levels (low, average, sufficient) for formation of socio-communicative culture of students of medical educational institutions are proposed. The potential of non-school hours of medical educational institutions as a system, which combines the goal, content, functions, methods, pedagogical forms, aimed to develop proactivity, tolerance, interaction of the students based on the principles of cooperation and co-creation, is disclosed. It is proved that the period of studying in institutions of higher education is optimal for the development of value-semantic structures of student consciousness and it is characterized as the final stage of preparation to begin independent professional activity. The methodology of modeling the formation of social and communicative culture of students of medical educational institutions during non-school hours as a set of interrelated elements: goal, content, tasks, approaches, principles, methods, forms, means, result, as well as pedagogical ones, is theoretically substantiated, developed and experimentally tested. The blocks and structural components of its implementation are constructed in accordance with the logic and structure of the non-school hours in the university. It is proved that the successful formation of social and communicative culture is possible when one follows the pedagogical conditions introduced within non-school hours: Implementation of the thematic training package in the context of the subject-subject interaction of students of medical educational institutions and teachers within the elective course «Socio-communicative culture of the future medical men in professional activity»; An increase of the specific weight of interactive methods based on the principles of personally oriented interaction and contributing to the formation of a social and communicative culture in non-school work; Introduction of methodological support for the curators of academic groups during extra-curricular work. The effectiveness of the pedagogical conditions of its realization (provision of subject-subject interaction of participants in the educational process of medical institutions, application of interactive methods of personally oriented interaction, development of methodological support for curators of academic groups) was substantiated and experimentally
