The dissertation is devoted to the problem of bringing-up the ability to overcome fears by the children of 5-7 years old in a pre-school educational institution, determination of the level of this skill among senior pre-school children; developing the model of optimization of the educational process in acquiring the skill to overcome fears, defining the optimal ways and methods of its achievement, the effective implementation of the suggested model in the educational process at the pre-school educational institutions. On the basis of the scientific literature analysis the present-day state of learning the problem of bringing-up the ability to overcome fear among senior pre-school children is defined. The main concepts of the scientific research such as "personality", "subject", "emotional and volitional development", "ability to overcome difficulties" are defined, the content of the concept "the ability of a pre-schooler to overcome fear" is determined. The peculiarities in the development of senior pre-school children as a sensitive age group for bringing-up the skill to overcome fear are substantiated; training senior pre-school children to cope with fear is represented as an integrated pedagogical process of a poly-subjective interaction between teachers, parents and children. It is grounded on the specially arranged activity, aimed at raising the level of up-brining of the investigated skill. The structure of the pre-school children's skill to overcome fear is specified and substantiated, which includes cognitive, emotional-value, behavioral components. The criteria and indicators to overcome fear are defined. According to the defined criteria and indicators such educational attainment levels of the ability to overcome fear by the pre-school children aged 5-7 are determined: high, optimal, medium, and low. The model of optimization of the educational process in pre-school educational institutions based on the above mentioned principles and approaches is developed. The pedagogical conditions and methods of effective upbringing of pre-school children's ability to overcome fear are pointed out and substantiated. The peculiarities of the educational process with the representatives of various attainment levels of the investigated skill are detailed. The effectiveness of the applied method is checked.
