The dissertation is devoted to the actual problem of the modern process of creation of a new Ukrainian education, which requires the active search for productive pedagogical technologies for the formation of the vital competence of senior pupils in extracurricular activities. The analysis of the state of research of the mentioned problem in the philosophical, social, psychological and pedagogical domestic and foreign literature on the essence of the key concepts of the study «life competence of the individual», «extra-curricular activities», «the formation of the vital competence of senior pupils in extracurricular activities» is carried out.
It is proved that one of the main subsystems of the process of forming the vital competence of the senior pupil is extra-curricular activities that provide psychological and pedagogical conditions for the development of abilities and tendencies, the manifestation of natural abilities, broadening the mind and independent creative search in any field, the better understanding of the social perception of modern life and self-esteem of the self «I».
It is noted that interactive, game, club, forms of organization of extra-curricular activities of senior pupils create conditions for collective search of productive ideas, realize their aspirations for success and form their own point of view in the process of communicative interaction. The use of information technology in extracurricular activities of senior pupils as one of the elements of modern youth culture is emphasized. Its application promotes the development of interest, skills and abilities of work with information resources, activation of cognitive activity, formation of research skills, improvement in the information culture, gaining experience of public speeches, boost self-esteem.
Five criteria are identified based on the theoretically substantiated essence and structure of the formation of the vital competence of senior pupils: motivational (positive attitude to successful livelihoods, comprehension of goals of life, choice of future professional activity); axiological (value approach to life, to themselves, to the surrounding people and to the surrounding world); cognitive (knowledge of the world, laws of life, of themselves, rules of behavior); active (adoption of social norms of behavior, life-creating abilities, model of behavior in a conflict situation); reflexive-estimating (self-control, self-regulation, self-esteem).
We define the formation of the vital competence of senior pupils as the creation of a pedagogically appropriate educational environment, which provides the acquisition of knowledge, skills, social experience, awareness of their activities and themselves as its subject, which are necessary for a successful life in society and the implementation of their own project of life.
The organizational and pedagogical conditions for the formation of senior pupils ‘vital competence in extracurricular activities are theoretically substantiated: ensuring the continuity and continuity of the process of forming senior pupils’ vital competence in extracurricular activities through means of managerial designing of internal and attracting external educational resources; implementation of acmeological technologies in the process of organizing extra-curricular activities of senior pupils; optimization of the content and procedural components of extra-curricular activities of senior pupils on the basis of the introduction of a praxeological approach.
Objectivity and reliability of the obtained results are based on the use of the method of mathematical statistics «Pearson’s» chi-square «criterion and it is concluded that the obtained results of the research testify to the effectiveness of the developed organizational and pedagogical conditions for the formation of the vital competency of senior pupils in extracurricular activities.
