Object: process of professional self-determination of senior pupils; the purpose: to theoretically substantiate and experimentally verify the effectiveness of organizational and pedagogical conditions for the formation of the readiness of high school students for professional self-determination regarding the military service contract; methods: analysis and synthesis, comparison of scientific and theoretical material for clarification of the conceptual-categorical apparatus of the research, generalization and systematization of theoretical and empirical data, questioning, testing, pedagogical observation, statistical processing of the results of the pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty: the components, criteria, indicators and level of readiness of senior pupils for professional self-determination in terms of contracting military service are singled out; Organizational and pedagogical conditions, structural-functional model in the unity of the target, conceptual, theoretical, diagnostic, forming and effective blocks are developed and substantiated; the content of the concepts is defined: "professional self-determination of senior pupils on the performance of military service under a contract", "professional orientation of senior pupils for military service under a contract", "military patriotic education", "readiness of a senior pupil for professional self-determination in respect of military service under a contract"; the principles, forms, methods and means of education in the process of professional self-determination of senior pupils concerning the military service contract underwent further development; methodical provision of professional development of teachers of the subject "Protection of the Fatherland"; branch - theory and methodology of education
