Theoretical and methodological foundations in forming of mental interests and needs of children at the age of 5-9 by means of art were studied, developed for the first time and substantiated scientifically in this dissertation. Author's methodical conception in mental education of growing generation is developed on their base. Main point (essence) and content, functions, interaction, degree of significance of this phenomena were discovered on the base of thorough analysis in concepts: "mentality", "mental interests and needs" (separately and all together), "art". Some aspects of their functionally forming reality were also discovered. Theoretical prerequisites in mental profoundly analyzed in accordance with aim, conceptual principles and tasks of research. Methodical measures (methods, forms, ways, approaches etc.) both their mental interests and needs, revealing and formation were thought up and formulated exactly in standpoint of its mental interests and needs. For the first time author determined, analyzed and formulated mental interests and needs all put together: formation was carried out in two age categories continually in senior and junior school. In addition the need in emotional meaningfulness and search of account in outline of mental interests and needs. This formation was taken place not only in esthetic position but in ethic one too. Authors pedagogical system in forming mental interests and needs at the age of 5-9 by means of art took central place in dissertation of which age and individual peculiarities of children, social pedagogical conditions, factors (family, kindergarten, school, art, and main factor as integrational account in elaboration. On the base of above mentioned factors the structure model of mental interests and needs was developed and procedural consistency, appearance and components and the whole system were determined. In this connection during experimental research on objective reasons (which didn't depend in us) it was proved three different experimental groups and three different control groups. Scientific work received additional dynamic development with the majority of comparison and collations and also gave possibility to study widely and deeply "depths" of forming mental interests in all their variety. In results of this research recommendations were formed. It is necessary to widen constantly the sphere of child's mental needs with creative knowledge we must always aim children to success and positive result. The following tendency is viewed perspective and actual for future scientific search as forming of mental interests and needs of children at the age of 3-5 by means of art; forming of mental interests and needs (science, art, religion) of junior schoolchildren in total, forming many-sided interests and needs of preschoolers by various means.
