The object of research is the process of increasing the efficiency of exploitation of propulsion cars. The aim of the research is to increase the efficiency of exploitation of propulsion car by hybrid methods by introducing an additional electric drive and an additional source of energy for this electric drive. The methods of the classical theory of electric machines, methods of differential calculus, methods of analysis and calculation of electronic circuits, methods of the theory of automatic control are used for the research. Methods of the theory of the automobile, methods of analysis and calculation of circuits of power electronics are also used. Research creates a theoretical basis for optimizing the conversion of a car from an internal combustion engine to a hybrid vehicle. This will shorten the time for the development of a new design and reduce the amount of testing. For the first time it was proposed: methods of calculation, a converted car in the electric drive mode; methods for calculating the BLDC motor on the basis of a generator synchronous electric machine, the concept of conserving the energy of regenerative braking in the form of electric heating of the engine cooling liquid; the concept of using in the "start-stop" system several methods of launching ICE; further development: the method of increasing the braking torque on the shaft of the electric motor; method of ensuring mechanical and electrical stability; The concept of optimizing the use of the kinetic energy of a car with ICE. The results of the scientific research of the dissertation work are used in the Zaporizhzhya Automobile Building Plant, in the scientific and practical activities of Ukravtoproject LLC, LLC "TOR", " are used in the educational process at the Department of Automotive Electronics of Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University. The results of the research are proposed to be used: in the work of road transport enterprises; at the stations of maintenance and repair; in scientific research institutes; in higher educational institutions.
