Essay

The dissertation is the first attempt to systematically trace the process of the spread of French Postimpressionism in Ukrainian painting of the 20th – 21st centuries. The tendency of Ukrainian Postimpressionist painting is an original phenomenon of national art. The presence of Ukrainian art on the map of world culture is carried out by localization of individual creative practices in the persons of pioneers of Ukrainian Art Nouveau: M. Burachek, A. Erdeli, F. Krychevski, A. Manevych, O. Murashko, O. Novakivski and I. Severyn, whose traditions were continued by the followers of the Soviet period: G. Gluk, E. Kontratovych, A. Kotska, R. Selskii, O. Shatkiwski, T. Yablonska, and exponents of Postimpressionism of the Independence period: O. Garagonych, I. Melnychuk, V. Mykyta, V. Patyk.
