The importance of forming the sociolinguistic competence of future law specialists as a component of professional competence is one of the urgent tasks, as noted by domestic and foreign scientists. The training of a future legal specialist allows one to overcome the contradiction that arose between society's need for competent legal specialists and the insufficient level of preparation of students for international activities; between the recognition that sociolinguistic competence plays an important role in the personal and professional development of a future legal specialist and the insufficient development of scientific and methodological support for the development of sociolinguistic competence of a future legal specialist in the system of higher education institutions; between the dominant focus of the pedagogical process in institutions of higher education on the formation of students' subject-specific knowledge and skills and insufficient attention to the study of the English language and the formation of sociolinguistic English-language competence of future law specialists. It was found that the sociolinguistic competence of the future legal specialist is a complex, integral, individual-psychological, integrated formation that combines sociolinguistic knowledge, a personal attitude to foreign cultures, enables successful communication with their representatives, feeling confident and comfortable in a foreign language sociolinguistic environment due to mastery of methods of using the English language in the legal field; characterizes the theoretical and practical readiness for sociolinguistic activity and the development of qualities in students during the study of the English language. In the structure of the sociolinguistic competence of future law specialists, informational-cognitive, motivational-value, and activity components are distinguished. The criteria for determining the level of formation of the informational-cognitive component of the sociolinguistic competence of future law specialists are axiological, linguistic-cultural, and practical-communicative. The developed criteria and indicators made it possible to distinguish three conditional levels of formation of sociolinguistic competence of future legal professionals in the process of professional training in higher education institutions: high, sufficient, and initial level. Research has proven the positive influence on the formation of sociolinguistic competence of students of the Faculty of Law in institutions of higher education of the disciplines of psychological-pedagogical and special training. Expanding the content of professional disciplines by adding texts, exercises, and audio and video files of the sociolinguistic English-language direction has a positive effect on the development of sociolinguistic competence as the ability of an individual through adequate understanding and respect for other languages and cultures to manifest an active and responsible life in society. Pedagogical conditions for the formation of sociolinguistic competence of future law specialists are defined as 1) implementation of English-language situational communication; 2) the introduction of competence-oriented tasks during the study of professional disciplines by future law specialists; 3) design of students' educational activities as a step-by-step independent work aimed at solving problem situations during group dialogue with the participation of the teacher. The following methods were used to solve the tasks of the specified stages of implementing pedagogical conditions for the formation of sociolinguistic competence of future legal professionals: exercises, creative tasks, writing works-reflections, games: business, plot, situational role-playing; interactive methods: microphone, carousel, aquarium, brainstorming; case technologies, project method, CLIL method, etc. The obtained results of the study confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed methodology for the implementation of pedagogical conditions for the formation of sociolinguistic English language competence of future legal professionals.
